The Host by Stephenie Meyer
2.0

It's rare that an author can follow-up with another hugely successful book after doing it the first time, and Stephanie Meyer is not able to do it with "The Host."

It happens to the best of them (like J.K. Rolling) when her first book after the Harry Potter series was the abysmally awful "The Casual Vacancy." She did, however, redeem herself somewhat with "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."

In the future, Meyers may be able to do the same, but I'm sure her Twilight Saga series will be her shining moment and it may be impossible for her to outdo that series of books and movies' popularity.

As a writer, I know that a writer must write, but perhaps after such huge successes like the Potter and Twilight series of books and movies, a writer should write for herself/himself only and stand on her/his laurels and enjoy the never-ending royalty and residual checks.
