Self-absorbed, annoying, and immature bird nerd tries to do things but is horribly inept and incapable of doing anything without making herself the victim at all time. Woe is her, truly.

This book is a "cozy romantasy," which is brilliant marketing because I would instead describe it as "the feeling of rotting away on your couch for hours and instead of feeling relaxed and satisfied, you just hate yourself for wasting your time." But that's what cozy is to some people (probably the same people who relate to whatever is going on with Aila) and that's okay.

Also, I saw a review that said they loooooved Aila's friendship with Tanya... Girl are you okay? What friendship? You mean the one where it's all about Aila because she lacks the emotional depth of caring for other people until they're actively mad at her and experiences no consequences for her horrendous actions and instead is coddled like the baby that she is? Cool.
