Plague by Michael Grant
4.0

Content warning: body horror, gory and sickness

People who do not like gore would not like this book. Grant does not hold any punches. There are bugs eating characters from the inside and many characters get sick and cough up their lungs.

This book had a lot of fear and high stakes. Non of these characters can catch a break and are traumatized by the end of the book. I can understand people not enjoying this series for that reason. It is a really depressing series. Many characters are dying or dealing trama with events that have happened from other books. For me i enjoy seeing how past events have affected the characters.

I still do not like Astrid. I do not find her fun to read about. Her main dilemma in this book is whether she should kill her autistic little brother because she thinks it will end the Fayze. There is no logical reason that killing a little kid will end the Fayze. Also in the last book when the council doesn’t go as plan she quits and saids she doesn’t want anything to do with the council. She is really smart so i do think there is a role she should play with helping the council come to a decision. Also i am fine with her being religious but i don’t like that when she makes reasons for others to not do something she uses religious reasons. Not everyone wants to stay religious or has faith in god during these times. Use other reasons than you will go to hell if you do.

I do not care for the he wants to have sex but she doesn’t because of religious reasons. I don’t connect with sex drama in books.

I do enjoy most of the characters. Anyone that is a Brianna fan she kicks ass in this book. She saves Caine many times.

I am not attacked to Lana and Sanjit’s beginning of relationship. They are not dating let but Sanjit has a huge crush on Lana and they are starting to hangout together. So far Sanjit makes it clear at the beginning that he really likes Lana but doesn’t force her into anything. He does follow her around though. She isn’t into him yet but after having a conversation she is fine with and secretly likes having him around. I am not into it yet because even though it is not it feels sorta one sided. Like one person is more into having a relationship than the other. I know that’s the point but still.

I kinda wanted to hear from his siblings a bit more too. I like the siblings dynamic more than Lana and Sanjit’s dynamic
