A House at the Bottom of a Lake by Josh Malerman

mysterious medium-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? Plot
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? No

2.0

I have read and loved two of Malerman's other books (Pearl, Daphne) but this one did not do it for me. The concept was interesting but unfortunately the writing was just...not great? The dialogue between the two main characters definitely felt awkward. There was no satisfaction in this one. I would've DNFed it if it wasn't so short.
