Vow of Thieves by Mary E. Pearson

3.0

I read the first book when it came out (at least 6 years ago) so I remembered very little about what had happened in the first book. I understood the events of this book but forgot a lot about the relationships between characters, who was who, etc. Jace had so many damn siblings. There's got to be like 11 at this point because every chapter they discussed a new person and it's like who are these people???? That's my fault for not reading the first and second books closer together.

The romance is just as rushed as I remembered it to be and a lot of the love declarations felt a little cringey and insta-lovey but it's fine. I think the plot was pretty entertaining but some of the romance stuff felt repetitive. However, I must give Mary E Pearson credit for doing that marriage reveal. I have an extreme weakness for any kind of dramatic reveal, especially a secret marriage reveal because the tea is always SCALDING. So, although I didn't really care much about the romance, I ate that up because I just love that kind of drama.
