I recommend this book if you like:
-dark academia
-third person and heavily descriptive writing
-slow pace plot
This author is very popular and I had high hopes from reading the blurb of this book but unfortunately I did not enjoy this read. It was a mixture of the writing style, characters and dragged out plot.
I am glad I finished the book to get some answers although not every storyline was wrapped up hence leaving it open for the sequel (that I will not be reading).
I did not care for Alex’s character or the others. The plot was just okay, not gripping but I will say it was unusual.
Alex can see Grays (ghosts) and has access to magic to oversee that secret societies are utilising magic within the rules of Lethe at Yale University.
The mystery of Darlington. I was over it by the fifth chapter.
How long are those chapters by the way?!
Unfortunately, this book took me far too long to get through because I wasn’t enjoying it.
