Tokyo Ghoul, Vol. 1 by Sui Ishida
4.0

***3.9 Stars***

This was a very unique read for me. I usually don't read gory manga or horror manga , however this one was pretty good. I loved Kaneki so much. He is very relatable in some ways. I was not in a great mindset while reading this and was dealing with my own anxiety problems, so Kaneki's helplessness complemented my mental state. I found some of the themes (metamorphosis, supernatural, friendship) in this manga to be super interesting and I liked how they blended in with the gory scenes. The only reason I gave this less than 4 stars is because I still don't know where the plot is going and I'm not fully invested. So I might continue reading the next volumes to see where this goes.

p.s.: Loved Hide and Kaneki's friendship scenes hope to see more of their friendship scenes in the next volumes.
