You'd think I'd feel more empathy for a character who is given a terminal diagnosis of leukemia...but I just couldn't muster it. Alice was a really unlikeable character for me. A junior in high school, she is consumed with her creepy boyfriend and the drama between her and an arch-enemy, Celeste.
When Alice enlists the help from her longtime friend, Harvey, to complete a bucket-list-of-revenge before she dies, she is able to right the wrongs of her heart. However, when she is given the news that she is in remission and can return to school, she is forced to own the nastiness she has wrought.
