The Big Dark Sky
by Dean Koontz
Though Dean Koontz is as usual the master of his prose, this book suffers probably from too much of it. Till almost 65% into the book the progress is painfully slow. Passages explaining a character's thinking, motivations and ideology, which used to a pleasure to read in the Odd series for example are a bit of a drag in this book.
After 65%, the pace picks up and is unrelenting till the almost sudden climax.
