A magical, coming-of-age romance. The plot seemed to evolve in jolts and spurts but rarely felt too slow. Some things seemed oversimplified/under-explained at times
like the Tal and Athlen’s relationship development or the reveal of the story’s villain
. Ultimately I had a fun time watching it unfold and the characters become more intertwined. But I can’t say the story was incredibly memorable or captivating.

I plan on reading more from the author to check out their writing vibes. Cute and quirky and daring.
