A week after I've finished a John Verdon book, I've forgotten most of what it was about. I always wonder why, since I have scored the two first quite high. This time, though, I know why. This is an empty shell of a book. Most of the pages could've easily been torn out, and you'd still not have missed anything by the end. The characters, especially the female ones, are superficial skeletons without any believable personality.

This will be my last John Verdon book, although I hate unfinished business.
