What an interesting world! Sachielle is the daughter of a king and is sent to become the Dragon's consort. She brings with her numerous maids and ladies in waiting, but the most important one is her handmaiden, Zanya. The relationship between Sachielle and Zanya was so fierce. I really felt sympathy for both of them, but especially Zanya. There might be a future why choose/polyamorous relationship brewing, and I am here for it.
I liked the origin stories of the Gods, and the Dragon definitely grew on my over the course of the book. I really appreciated his early awkwardness, then the change in his dynamics with first Sachielle and then Zanya as he realized what he wanted and what he was willing to do to get it. And then the end made my cry and cheer and long for the next book!
Read this book if you like Gods who walk among mortals, arranged marriage tropes, bisexual spicy scenes, and romantasy.
