The Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon
Out of the 5 books in the Outlander series that I have gone through so far, Outlander (#1) has been my favourite and since then the books have sort of started to decline (with the exception that I really enjoyed the beginning of Voyager). Out of all them, the Fiery Cross has been the dullest, with no discernible plot line. The book went on for 1000+ pages of... nothing in particular. Spoiler alert: At the end it sort of felt like it was building up the elimination of Stephen Bonnet but then that, too, amounted to nothing.
The only reason I got through this book (took me over 3 months tho) is because since I'm already 5 books in I've invested too much time into the characters and plot of this series, and I really need to know how it concludes + I'm hoping for something in particular to happen.
I'm still going to continue with A Breath of Snow and Ashes (#6) and hope for better.
