Sons and Lovers
by D. H. Lawrence
At times capricious to the point of absurdity, and at other times a melodrama writ large, SONS & LOVERS nevertheless has a number of beautiful, lyrical passages that linger long after reading. Furthermore, it's shockingly and refreshingly frank in the way it deals with sexuality - especially for a novel written in 1913.
