It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey

4.0

Piper's growth and her relationship with her sister was probably the best thing about this entire book. I'm finding Tessa's leading men to be kind of one-note. The possessiveness is also starting to get REALLY fucking old. Like I just finished this book, and I already forget the main dude's name. Brendan was just a smash of Travis and Dom from the Hot and Hammered series, and I found him a bit boring because of this. I wished his marriage and his relationship with his late wife would have played a bigger role considering how long he held onto that for the sake of obligation, but in a matter of weeks, he's all "Welp, I'm ready to move on because now I have a nice set of tits to fondle", and I just kind of hated it. These two being "so in love" with each other after 5 weeks was also stupid as hell. I wanted Piper to stay at Westport for her own reasons, not because of a man.
