The Program by Suzanne Young

"Sloane knows better than to cry in front of anyone."

That's pretty funny because she seems to cry all the god damn time.

I hated this book. I mean it wasn't as bad as Allegiant but it was bad.

Besides the horrible writing and the horrendous story in and of itself (suicide is an epidemic that can be cured by erasing your memories? really?), the characters are the worst part.

No.

Scratch that.

The MAIN character, the protagonist, is the worst part. She is the most selfish character I have ever had the misfortune of reading. From beginning to end, every character is set out to protect Sloane. Every single one of them. But James, precious James aka the only character I liked, literally spent all his time loving her and protecting her and treating her like a God. So naturally when he gets sick she steps up, right? Right! But ONLY so he can get back to caring about her. The entire time she whines about how she needs him to be there for her and how she wishes he were better to hold her.

I. Hate. Sloane.

That's all I want to say on this. I liked James but my hatred for Sloane is enough to make me not want to continue this series. I hated this book. Hated it.
