I really love the world from Sky in the Deep and was really excited to read this book. It was interesting to see the future after Sky in the Deep, with Halverd as an adult and an independent character. Yet, I didn’t find myself as attached to the story in this sequel as in the previous book. Perhaps that is because of the slower-ish pace of this book. However, I love the way that Young writes and so I still thoroughly enjoyed this read and would recommend it for an easy, comfort read!
I would definitely say taking a long-ish break between the two is not recommended as I found myself having to go back to Sky in the Deep to remind myself of all the original characters given the increased age of many!
