normally I love dystopian books (throwback to middle school) but this was so heavy and exaggerated that it read more like horror. i can see how some folks would really enjoy it, and it definitely made me think! but for me personally, it felt dark and heavy in a way that i wasn’t expecting, particularly for a spontaneous summer read (that may be on me for not reading reviews beforehand)
