It's more like 4.5⭐️ for Amina Al-Sarafi!
5⭐️ for Audiobook performance!! HIGHLY recommend listening to this book.

This book started slow for me. I don't know if it was because I had just come into a book slump in the month of May due to some DREADFUL audiobooks, so this was the first read after those. OR if it was due to a slower plot, in my opinion. Anyway, because of how long it took me to get into this physical book, I did switch over to it on Audible. And man, was that a GREAT decision. This audiobook was SO much fun! Both Jamal and Amina were narrated fantastically. It was almost set up as an interview, and I loved that there were bits and pieces within the narration where Amina would like "fade out" as if she were speaking to someone behind her, etc.. And then, at one point, Jamal got up and left the room, and she called after him. You just wouldn't get that experience having just read a physical or ebook copy.
Then I was so shocked/happy when at the end it's revealed that Jamal is actually Dunya. We LOVE a good representation novel.
Anyway, the characters and development in this book truly made this book so great, and without them, I'd probably rate this at a 3.5⭐️. I really enjoyed Tinbu and his quirky self. Dalia was fun and just a feisty old lady, lol. Unpopular opinion, I really enjoyed Raksh.

Overall, I'm super excited to see where the next adventure takes us!!
