No Elfing Way by Hayden Hall

I have mixed feelings about this one, though I did enjoy it. I really liked Ezra. I loved his sass and how much he cared for the town, James' grandpa, and the toy store. I also did like James, although I felt like he had his head up his ass in a way that wasn't really very charming. The overarching plot of this book was very Hallmark formulaic, which wasn't necessarily a bad thing, but I was kinda waiting for a more interesting twist or turn, which didn't happen. I liked the way the story ended, though. The one thing in this book that kept pinging in my brain was this underlying sense that the author wanted this book to be a lot more kinky than it ended up being. There were hints of kink sprinkled in various parts of this book but nothing more than vague thoughts the characters had once or twice about obedience, spanking, etc. It just struck me as odd that there were so many different times it vaguely came up, but nothing was really done about it. Even a slight exploration would have fit with both characters' personalities. Overall, I did like this book and I had fun reading it.
