Even though it took me longer than expected to finish this book, I really enjoyed The Midnight Kingdom. The story starts off where City of Dusk ended. I liked learning more about the other realms as well as different parts of the home world. The new characters were also a great addition to the story. However, just like City of Dusk, this book suffers from pacing issues and is very slow. I personally think it could have been shorter than it was. Still, I am really excited to read book three and to see how this story will wrap up in the end.
