Lover Enshrined

Agony!
3.75/5 Stars. You know what I like about this book and the whole series thus far? The multiple POV’s. They are well done and it contributes to this well rounded feeling with the world and all that is going on. Though each book has focused one a particular pair, each book has POV’s of other characters that we have read from before, and sometimes new ones. Everyone contributes to the over all arc in this world. This is what I enjoy most.
To be honest (which is the point of reviews) Phury and Cormia drove me nuts...this terrible back and forth the entire book just really annoyed me and tired me out and I think this is why it took me so long so read this one. I just wanted them to get it together sooner. I am not saying I dislike these characters but, how their relationship and interactions were written in the book was exasperating for me. I was seriously shaking my head 90% of the time I read from either POV. Simply put, for me they were not the stars in this book. I will say, I look forward to see how they continue to develop and how they impact the rest of this world in the next books.
John Matthew, Quinn & Blay...they are just growing up, aren’t they?! ☺️ I have enjoyed their dynamics thus far.
We had some great and unexpected developments in this book which were great!
Also, I am not sure I will ever be able to give any of these books 5 stars, not because they are not good but because (bare with me here) I do not like how the brothers talk...this “true”, “tight”, “feel me”, etc. seems so out of character to me for Vampires that are as old as they are. Just doesn’t quite fit. I can see it for the current younger generation but not for those currently in the brotherhood.
Finally, I think the author does a good job in giving these vampires some serious flaws and real life “human” obstacles. This book focuses a lot on drug addiction and how it affects one of our main characters and those around him. I think that overall these are the most human vampires I have read in a series and I quite enjoy it in this world.
Tis’ all I got folks!
