They Are the Hunters by Faith Gardner
5.0
4.5 stars rounded up
Wow, “They Are the Hunters” is a thrilling and heart-pounding book that puts readers on a mind-boggling ride of lies, murder, and the unbreakable ties of kinship. It is a thrilling tale filled with unexpected twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat until the last page.
The author weaves an exciting story, which quickly grabs your attention with its fascinating premise. It introduces The Hunters as a perfect family that welcomes Olivia West into their lives. Olivia becomes friends with their teenage daughter, Eliza, and the reader will be taken on a whirlwind of trust, loyalty, and dark secrets.
What makes this book genuinely captivating is its highly developed and complex characters. The story becomes more gripping and authentic as each member of the Hunter family has a distinct personality. The dynamics between the characters are also masterly handled, exemplifying how far they can go to protect each other.
The plot is fast and full of suspense and holds the reader’s anticipation. The author does very well in developing tension and sustaining it throughout the story. The ongoing issues of murder and underlying secrets make for a truly thrilling read.
One of the aspects that catches the eye is the investigation of the moral grayness of the Hunters. Though they look like an ordinary family in the neighborhood, the fact that they have murdered before brings an exciting dimension to the story. Will they kill again to protect their reputation keeps the reader hooked and eager to find out the truth plays on the mind, too.
However, sometimes, the pacing seemed rushed, and some of the plot points could have been fleshed out more. Moreover, although quite satisfying, the epilogue left a few dangling threads that could have ended more tightly.
“They Are the Hunters” is an exciting and thrilling read from the first page to the end. This is a psychological thriller fit for fans of the genre with well-crafted characters, suspenseful storytelling, and a look into family bonds. Prepare yourself to go for a wild ride that will make you think about how far you would go to protect your loved ones.
