Lethal White by Robert Galbraith

4.0

I've had mixed feelings about all the previous books in this series. To some extent, that was still true of this one. I really wish she could fully stick the landing. But this was definitely my favorite so far! It was gripping throughout, and I love Robin and Strike's relationship. There are some moments of repeated phrasing, which could have done with some editing. Some spoiler-y thoughts:
Spoiler I am thrilled to be rid of Matthew! But less thrilled about the return of Charlotte.
Rowling/Galbraith does one thing in all of these books which I find very annoying. There is a scene in which Strike reviews the clues with Robin and we are not privy to which clues he is reviewing. This makes it difficult to attempt to solve the mystery oneself and makes it harder to invest in the solution. I did think this mystery was a bit too complicated for the reader

Overall, there is a balance in any mystery novel between the puzzle and the story elements that I think is not quite worked out here. But I did enjoy it a lot.
