William Shakespeare's Much ADO about Mean Girls
by Ian Doescher
REGINA: Yet thou dost possess a beauty rare,
Young budding virgin, fair and fresh and sweet,
Happy the parents of so fair a child;
Happier the man, whom favorable stars
Allot thee for his lovely bed-fellow!
CADY: Again, my thanks.
REGINA: --Thou dost agree withal?
CADY: What?
REGINA: --Thou think’st also thou art beautiful.
I know the overlap in the Venn diagram of Shakespeare lovers and Mean Girl fans is a small one. But it exists. And I am in it.
This book is seriously one of my favorite things this year. It has made me laugh so much. I would love to see it performed as an actual play. 5/5 stars
