Over a one month period I read two very different books (memoirs) and both authors referenced their relationship with Max Ritvo so I needed to read this book. I wish I were a better reader of, and appreciator, of poetry but I loved the story of friendship in this book and the way Sarah Ruhl supported Max as he went through his final years fighting a brutal cancer.
