Persepolis 2: The Story of a Return
by Marjane Satrapi
I found this heartbreakingly disappointing.
I was so moved and touched by the first Persepolis, I rushed to put this one on hold at the library. I was extremely excited to read the second half of her story.
While the story being told is interesting, it feels like someone other than Marjane Satrapi told it. The personality that infected the first one is completely missing in this. The first book was clever, funny, and touching. I don't believe any of those three appear in this one.
Again, the story was good. But without that personality, that spark...this story just didn't feel the same, and didn't have near the affect of the first one.
