This is a beautifully written book with what I felt was a unique concept.

The use of a ghost as the narrator initially seemed like it could be limiting as Lisa was restricted by location and lacked memories. However, after an initial introduction to her we got a feel for her character before she then started remembering important facts from her life.

As she explores Peterborough she recalls the events that led up to her death and it is truly harrowing. Her relationship with Matthew is so well written that I really despaired over how tragic it was and inwardly urged her on to a different path so many times.

I adored the support characters; Dalmar, PC Lockhart, Melissa and Andrew. Although I was disappointed to find out that Andrew was not more significant personally to Lisa than I initially thought I loved his storyline.

This is well researched, authentic and engaging. Highly recommend and delighted to get access to an advanced copy in installments through The Pigeonhole.
