Heart Bones by Colleen Hoover

4.0

“Hearts don’t have bones. They can’t actually break.”

As Beyah’s world crumbles around her, she laments that “life and a dismal last name are the only two things her parents ever gave her.” Forced to adapt, yet again, she braved a phone call to a man she has not seen years, refusing to acknowledge him as her father. He sends her a plane ticket and Beyah moves in to his house. She immediately gains a step sister and step mom, more “family” than she has ever known. She also gains a mysterious, moody, handsome neighbor, Samson. Samson is difficult to get to know, but Beyah recognizes his walls and relates to his struggles. Could he be as broken as her? She is leaving come summers’ end, and so is he. This will go nowhere. But there is something about Samson.

A tame CoHo read but still a fun, fast one.
