What an interesting concept and great book. Hank Palace just recently became a detective on the Concord police force. He has been called to the site of an apparent suicide. Hank suspects murder but has a hard time convincing others of this or that he should even be pursuing an investigation. The twist here? There is an asteroid hurtling towards earth that will wipe out all life is six months. Is one death really important in the big picture? A really forward-thinking book toward in a more old-fashioned noir style.
