Another book I randomly picked up off my shelf after three years of owning it...it's a good three stars, not an I'm-not-sure-how-to-feel-about-this three stars. Pretty average story, though the plot concept was a little more creative than I expected. As exciting and twisty ( as it was, I never became fully convinced of the Starters world. I couldn't believe that in a world left with elderly people and young kids, the elders would demand themselves back in control of the workforce and leave most of the underage population in the streets to fend for themselves. Oh, and rent out the desperate younger bodies for fun.
...yeah I just couldn't quite accept it. Maybe if there were more explanations within the story, with more detailed historical info dumps. (Usually those annoy me but even one would have been helpful.)
Overall a good read, and I still recommend if you want a good practice for suspending your belief.
