The Trial of Socrates by I.F. Stone

Oh boy, I have never felt so angry while reading a book. This book could have been titled 10 reasons why I don't like Socrates. I really didn't like the way Stone told things about other translations. It's so bad to tell in a book that somebody else translation is the worst.
This is going to be a long review.
First of all, I've read a translation into Dutch. I don't know if this influenced the writing style.
It began really interesting but it went very quickly down hill. I know that there are always two sides of a story but oh boy. Stone really hates the image of Socrates made by Plato. At first I thought everybody can have their ideas but it went really bad in the chapter that Socrates was a snob. After that Socrates became the most annoying ever in the opinion of Stone. I really hates his comments on others translations. He would say that it was bad and a bad interpretation. It was so mean. Like translation is a hard job to do. After a while I got the feeling that Stone was the snob. He even made sarcastic footnotes in his own text saying that he the smart Stone had read the original in Greek. Like if that isn't snobbish?
Just don't pick up this book.
