The writing itself was fine, but nothing about the story really intrigued me or enticed me to keep going.
The bigger reason I didn't keep continue on though was because I didn't really find the FMC likeable. Yes, she's dealt with upsetting things in her life and sadness about that makes sense, but her day-to-day felt like it was just gripe after gripe. She seemed spoiled but not in a way that it was even used as a plot point - she just pulls out silver coins from her bag whenever she needs to bribe someone, get a room at an inn, or pay for a bath. Really, if your worst (constant) complaint right now is that you have to spend 12 days in a carriage ride with a guy you hired to help you accomplish your goal, but you're also prejudiced against.. I don't really feel that bad for you.
When I was telling a friend I was considering dnf-ing, I continued reading on and my decision was made after a few more sentences. The FMC said the following things to the MMC about him potentially sleeping with a barmaid:
"Are you staying with her?"
"If you want to debase yourself, be my guest."
There didn't seem to be any awareness in the story that this sort of women-putting-down-other-women-out-of-jealousy is tired, and I don't really have the energy for it lol
