This series has me so confused. I enjoy the plot so much- the start of this book had me HOOKED and on the edge of my seat. Where my confusion lies is with Poppy, the FMC. While I realize that her naivety has context within the story, I still find her continued doe-eyed "huh????" demeanor fairly annoying at times. However, just when I'm annoyed enough at Poppy to consider DNFing this series, the plot picks up and action happens and I'm hooked again.

 Taking a break for now, but I'll continue with the companion series at some point soon.
