I was genuinely really shocked by the ending and did not see it coming at all. It was enjoyable but the writing style is not my favorite. It’s a bit overly descriptive with simple sentences.

There is a very graphic description of birth gone wrong as well as child abuse. But the child abuse depicted at the beginning does not last the entire book and the birth takes only one chapter
