this series just pissed me off. actually it’s been pissing me off the whole time, but i’ll finish it anyways, cause i already own all the books.
for the last 2 books in this series, everyone was talking about lucien the fae king like he was this cold frigid monster who was abrasive and cold hearted. even on the blurb of this book it says he has a cold dead heart and ruthless behaviour, but you get 50 pages in and it hits you with SURPRISE hes actually super sweet and loving and charismatic, even though he was a tweaker choking raife in the last book, and everything is a rumour and he’s actually sooo sweet and romantic. give me a break. that actually made me so fuckin mad.
there is NO ruthless cold prince in this book; he’s a nice guy. which is fine, but advertise it as such. pair that with the shitty juvenile writing and the dull as dishwater female protagonist, and this book just sucks. it’s boring. the plot isn’t good. the characters aren’t good, the dialogue is cornball. there’s an entirely useless rape scene that was unnecessarily descriptive, glossed over in terms of impact, poorly represented and does nothing for the plot, making it feel horrifically irresponsible and reckless on the authors part. the entire thing reads like a wattpad book. not even worth the lousy $12 i spent on it.
