I had such high hopes for this book after loving the glimpses of Ronan we got in the first 4 SPC books. But alas, I thought that no age gap was too large, and this book proved otherwise. While the story was fun, seeing Ronan and Daisy’s relationship develop was adorable, and the smut was 🥵 and awoke some things inside me for sure, I had a hard time connecting with Daisy and felt like there were some inconsistencies in her character; being perceived as wild and adventurous one minute and innocent the next. She was just a bit too immature for being in a 30+ year age gap relationship, but that doesn’t take away from the story in my opinion. It was still amazing seeing more of Ronan and watching him help Daisy navigate her grief and learn to care for herself as much as she cared for him was a lovely storyline.

I would’ve given this 4 stars but then it ended with a pregnancy trope and ruined it for me, sorry Queen Sara. I just can’t be happy with an ending where a 22 year old is saddled with 2 kids and barely got to live her life aside from a grief-free stint in Paris with an almost 60 year old (sorry daddy Ronan, still love ya). I wish that Daisy and Ronan took a break longer than 2 months, I feel like that would’ve been a lot more satisfying. Or, as much as I love a HEA, that they went their separate ways at the end of the book.
