2.5 stars . I I really wanted to love this book. It has been featured all over bookstagram and I was so excited to dive into it. I even (hold for affect) bought this book. The majority of my reads are library borrows so if I buy one, I believe it’s going to be amazing and I will want to keep it. The premise was a hook, line, and sinker situation for me (yes, pun intended), as I am a sucker for dark romance and a villain love interest. Unfortunately, the writing style did not work for me. This was one of those times where I was reminded of my elementary school English teacher reminding the class to “show not tell” the reader, as I was constantly reminded that I was looking at the physical words on a page and was unable to get lost within the story.
