Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling

4.0

I feel the need to give this a short review because of how popular this series is and the crazy amount of 5 stars compared to any others.

This book was unnecessarily long lol. It probably could’ve lost a good 200 pages, but even aside from the length, I didn’t find myself impacted by the events as I did in previous books. One of my favorite characters was Sirius and I didn’t even shed a single tear when he died. I guess I was just hoping that the end would redeem itself enough to justify the slowness? Voldemort’s fight was underwhelming to me, and I guess I was just expecting to be absolutely wrecked.

With that being said, these books do continue to amaze me in how much the characters grow with the readers, and even though I hate Rowling, I love her mind. I’m still excited to jump to the next book!
