Set in the mysterious town of Castello, Italy this book follows Lilly who moved their with her dad for his job after her mothers death.

Fully of mystery their background is filled with hatred, Lilly thinking her mother hated her. Her dad heartbroken over her mother’s suicide. The story follows them finding out that they really didn’t know all too much about Lilly’s mother while unravelling the mystery behind Castello and its clans.

The town is scared of saints, saints being those who have magical powers. The general the sole survivor of an attack at the hands of some saints 20 years ago uses this to scaremonger the town against them.

Trusting no one , it’s a mission to find out the truth and save the city from itself.

Overall I did enjoy this book, it was engaging with several romantic interests and unforeseen betrayals. Unfortunately though it just ended somewhat bluntly leaving it feeling not properly finished/ without closure. So I enjoyed it but I feel like the ending could’ve been saved through committing a little bit more time and pages to closing out the plot securely.
