Unmasking Autism: Discovering the New Faces of Neurodiversity by Devon Price
Did not finish book. Stopped at 6%.
As a trans man who's recently been encouraged by my therapist to get assessed for ASD, I was very excited to read this book. I was disappointed at how inaccessible it felt to me. I LOVE reading but struggle to get through any book with long chapters, and chapters in this book can go on for 50 pages. Even breaks in text within the chapters can be 20 pages apart. It surprised me because in the first 20 pages he speaks on how neurodivergent people often struggle with breaking down tasks into manageable steps, finding things like taxes, household chores, and reading extremely difficult, but this books seems to be aimed more at neurodivergent people than neurotypical people. I wish this was broken down more into short readable sections, not even made shorter as a whole, just less daunting to approach.
