I came across this book while checking in books requested by our patrons. The simple illustrations evoked real sympathy for the tired researcher and the plight of the stray dog who would help him discover the source of insulin, and by extension, save the lives of so many people.

And now I'm all teary at work for a dog who passed more than a century ago.
