With her beautiful flat in London, Alice appears to have it all but beneath the surface, everything is unravelling: she needs money, and fast. I really enjoyed the author’s first book #TheSwitch so was very excited to get a copy of this latest release and I wasn’t left disappointed.
It’s going to be a slightly difficult one to review in terms of not wanting to give anything away, but this is a slow burn psychological thriller that keeps you reading to know just where this story is going. Told through differing POV’s between the two main characters, Mina and Alice, I can’t say I particularly liked either character but that’s also not the author’s intention, the focus instead on the events happening rather than character connection.
The intrigue definitely keeps you reading, some elements feel a little unbelievable but all do have their place, especially within the final concluding chapters where everything falls into place, and where the pacing also takes it up a notch. Another great read from this author and look forward to what comes next!
