I don’t know where to begin, but I must say I simply couldn’t look away from this story because I loved every moment that I spent reading. This second installment made me feel the same horrific fascination and suspense of the first book, but it flushed out the world and the Oankali specifically. I really enjoyed this perspective of both humans and Oankali from someone who is a construct. I also appreciated the change in perspectives at times as it really made the community aspect of this story come alive. I loved this so much and I am currently devouring the series. It gives me that same giddy reading enjoyment that I had as a kid and I think that all in all the thought experiment of this world is so stimulating and the characters are so gripping I recommend it to everyone. I do think some of the gender elements reflect its time but I won’t have a complete perspective until I read the third installment. Give it a try!
