Roverandom by Wayne G. Hammond, J.R.R. Tolkien, Christina Scull

3.0

This short story is about a dog who got bewitched (bewizarded?) and went on an adventure to set things right with himself.

I liked this story because it's cute and light. Plus I have a soft spot for dogs. I liked how there were parallelisms to the two places Roverandom visited, but they weren't too repetitive, as children's stories go.

This is the perfect type of story to read aloud to a child and introduce them to Tolkien, too. It's fanciful and I think very appealing to the young.
