Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel by James Luceno

5.0

I don't want to speak too soon but this might be my favorite book I've read this year and it's only January. Rogue One has been one of my favorite Star Wars movies and the characters in the movie grew on me more than I really expected them too. When I discovered this book I was expecting to have a fun time reading it and get some more background on Galen and Lyra- what I got was emotions for Krennic that I never expected.
Krennic is my favorite type of villain: ambitious, headstrong, and way too confident in being able to get what he wants. This book really added to the character portrayed in Rogue One and I was especially thankful to see how the relationship between him and Galen came to be what it was. In addition to that we got to see Lyra be more than just Jyn's mom or Galen's wife. She is strong willed and full of love for her family and I immediately fell in love!
If you are looking for more stories based in the Rogue One era or looking for a fun read in general I highly suggest this book! It makes Rogue One just that much better of a movie.

Note- the audiobook for this was fantastic and I recommend it to those of you who enjoy them!
