Whew! It feels like Cosby is diving darker & darker, and KING OF ASHES is no exception. It was a poignant character study of three siblings and the lengths they will go to to protect one another and to find the truth: past, present, and future. It deals with some seriously heavy topics (see content warnings) and the stakes compound & escalate from chapter to chapter. I continue to love the way Cosby delivers a voice both gritty and poetic while exploring the morally gray (sometimes black) depths of his characters. Consider me a fan.
