Considering how boring I found the first two books in this series, I am so shocked by how much I loved this one. I really felt their connection early on in the book, and it was so fun to read their dynamic coming together. The only complaint I have is that the book didn't end super strong. It was pretty predictable and boring, and I wished some big thing happened. Other than that, I loved reading this book.

✅ cry test (from the beginning too, this book probably holds the record for being the fastest at making me cry)

Plot:
- H killed h's stepdad who abused her, and this sent him to juvie. However, h faked her death to H, and he is still tormented by her even after all these years.
- h goes find him because she needs his help to find the kids who have gone missing in her charity organization that help kids.
- H feels incredibly betrayed that she faked her death and that she's now scared of him. However, he helps her find the kids.
- As they go after the killer, they reconnect and H learns just how deep the trauma went for h. Also, she seems to be dying due to a neurological illness that sometimes leaves her losing consciousness and forgetting what happened.
- A scientist at the lab funded by a member of the Psy council agrees to help and gets h's kid and another one out.
= h has had a history of punishing herself and disassociating with sex, but she is finally ready for the next step in her relationship with H
- H kills the other scientist who had been killing the kids
- turns out the organization helps out the mixed kids of Psy and other species. Even though they aren't fully Psy, they sometimes have gifts, some mutated to be different and very powerful.
- h is actually ok, and it turns out its because the part of her that is Psy needed a neural link, which she got when she had sex with H and formed their mate bond and joined the pack's link.
