The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare

4.0

4 and 1/2 stars. I don't generally enjoy alpha-male-heroes any more because they tend more toward the alpha-hole end of the spectrum. Ashbury got close the line for me (hence the deduction of a half-star), but given what he'd been through I could understand why he acted the way he did (hence the deduction of *only* half a star). He certainly won me over by the end of the book! And Emma was fabulous--I love a heroine who can take care of herself, and who can be strong without necessarily being badass (though badass heroines are fun, too :-) ). Emma was a tough chick and still feminine, a combination I haven't seen a lot of but one that I thoroughly enjoyed.
