I am a big fan of EM Denning and every time she writes with Kate Hawthorne… it’s a banger!
This story really pulled at my heart-strings. Both Gil and Rowan are at places in their lives where they feel like they don’t deserve more than what they have. Gil is because he’s had his heart broken and Rowan is because he’s devoted to making his son’s life easier. I loved seeing how they fell for each other despite not wanting to, overcoming their own self-doubts, and learning to be in a healthy relationship.
I’m usually not partial to single-parent stories but I really enjoyed Rowan’s son’s plot line and character. I adored every scene with Gil and him (even if I was holding my breath each time!!) and seeing the acceptance of the entire family made me heart feel so happy.
I definitely recommend this book for contemporary romance fans!
